I FARTED…
One day I was walking and then I felt something. I realized it was a fart so I ran home and went to the restroom.

FIRST THING’S FIRST…

  • Most young people that choose to share their stories on Teen Central have problems that they are struggling to deal with…being abused, feeling alone, feeling like they want to die, not knowing how to cope with overwhelming thoughts of sadness or worry, needing help figuring out who they are and how to be in a relationship. And that’s only the start of it! Read some of the stories to see what we mean.
  • Some people are able to put these fears and stress into words, and some really struggle to even start. That’s why we’re here. You don’t have to have the perfect words to say your story. All you need to do is show up, speak your truth. You are safe here, and we will always try to help you.
  • But when the thing we’re about to try and talk about is really tough, we might distract ourselves (or others) or just deny that anything is wrong. Most people, adults included, don’t look for opportunities to have to change something. Because change is really hard, even when it’s good for you. Talking about a problem is really hard.
  • Using humor is one way that people distract themselves and others from what they really need to say. Maybe that’s what you’re doing. If you have something tough to say, and you’re not sure if we’re safe – trust the other people that have shared their stories. Trust that we will listen and try to help you.

IF YOU’RE UP FOR IT:

  • Say what it is that brought you to this website. Do you really just want to talk about farting, or are you maybe worried that you are physically sick? Are you trying to be funny, or do you want to know how we’ll handle what you need to say, even if it’s awkward or embarrassing? Try. We’ll be here. We’ll always listen to you, and we’ll respond.
