Bullied A Lot

By December 19, 2024No Comments

Hi I am bullied a lot and I am having trouble fitting.

Help Yourself:

  • Hello, thank you for reaching out and trusting the TeenCentral community with your story. It sounds like you’re having some troubles. Be proud of yourself for reaching out and asking for help.
  • Bullying can be scary and overwhelming. No one should have to endure that. Here on TeenCentral under the “Learn” tab we have a section on Bullying. It talks about how bullying is not okay; it identifies different types of bullying, and it gives ideas and suggestion on what to do next. Check it out.
  • Is there anyone in your life you feel safe talking to? Think about it – is there a parent, older sibling, extended family, or even a friend? How about at school – is there a guidance counselor, teacher or therapist you can talk to? Just being able to get these feelings out can help feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. They may help offer a solution or suggestions to get through this difficult time.
  • Please know if you ever feel so overwhelmed by the bullying and feel you have no one to talk to, there are people you can call or text. The Crisis Text Line is available 24/7 by texting “HOME” to “741741,” someone is just a text message away. You can also visit their website at www.crisistextline.org.
  • Remember it’s okay to speak up and ask for help with those in front of you. It can be scary, but you are braver than you think. You already took the first step.

Consider This:

When you’re feeling down and not sure what to do or who to go to, there are things you can do for yourself to help you cope. Here on TeenCentral under the “Tools” tab there are many suggestions and ideas such as:

  • Positive Self Talk – being able to identify something positive when feeling down or difficult day or incident can really help. Check out this Positive Self Talk guide.
  • Music Tool – have you considered music therapy as a form to cope? Sometimes music can help us express ourselves without us verbalizing it. Check out this Music Tool activity.
  • Journaling – have you considered having a notebook that you can use to express your thoughts and feelings each day? Writing things down and help us better express ourselves during heighten emotional moments. Consider free journaling or having a question to lead your journal entries such a “Today I feel…,””Pros and Cons of today…,””My goals to accomplish…” etc.
  • Art – do you like to scrapbook or draw/color? This too can be a way to express yourself in a nonverbal way. Try adult coloring books or putting together collages.

Hope this helps, we’re rooting for you, you got this!
