I’m so tired of everything. I don’t have anyone to talk to to tell me its going to be fine. My 12th results came today, 87.2%. My mom told me to join any shit course for college and to drop the idea of becoming a doctor like I always wanted to. She herself fed me the idea of being a doctor for years and now she says even if I take a gap year I won’t make it. I’m good at studying, I swear I am, but I’ve been depressed, and I couldn’t study properly. I was also sick during finals. But seeing everyone who gets lower than me get good scores, I’m done. I’m being constantly compared. I just want to get into a good college and move out, but all this is making me lose my confidence. I don’t even have the will to live.
FOR RIGHT NOW
- Thank you for reaching out to us. We’re sorry you’re feeling so discouraged right now.
- It’s very easy to focus on the negative, if you haven’t noticed that already. You’re finishing school- take a minute on congratulate yourself on that first. That’s amazing!
- Why don’t you try stepping back and take a look at the people you have in your life who you feel are being positive and supporting you right now. Can you talk to them? Share your accomplishments with them as well? Try to find people and places that will make you feel accomplished and positive.
- If you do feel discouraged to the point that you’re feeling unsafe and don’t talk to someone you know, please use one of the options below:
National Suicide Hotline
Available 24/7 – In order to reach the National Suicide Hotline you DIAL or TEXT 988 – or CHAT at 988lifeline.org.
FOR MOVING FORWARD
- Remember to keep setting goals for yourself- that’s very important. Maybe try journaling and keeping track of your feelings and your accomplishments so you don’t forget them when you feel down.
- There is nothing anywhere that says you need to know exactly what you’re going to be doing as soon as you get out of school, and even when you start college, wherever that is. Try using some calming techniques for yourself when you’re feeling overwhelmed- yoga, meditation, even walks outside. Then remember- you don’t need to know it all right now. Make one decision at a time.
- Find something to be proud of every day- for yourself. No one decides how far you go in life except you. Take the time to find people who will support that along the way. They’re there. And good luck on your amazing future.
