Hi, I’m 19 years old. I know I’m consider an adult, but I still have teenage still in me. I’m dealing with anxiety and depression. I have been waiting to get back on a medication, but insurance kept declining it. Now I’m suffering and went to an ER for the last 4 weekends. I’m not being heard at all and they can’t do anything, so I get sent home. Also, because I was not feeling suicidal they sent me home. They didn’t give me anything to calm down. I have to wait till Monday for my meds. Isolation tomorrow from a family event where I’ll stay in my room and cry. 988 can’t help me, and my psych can’t do anything till the 23rd. I just don’t know what to do except put a fake face on and pretend I’m happy. When I’m not. It feels like I’m alone in this journey. I got to go now. Have good night as I won’t.

Other Options
- Who else do you have in your life that you can reach out to? Do you have any family members or trusted adults such as mentors, teachers/ professors, pastors, etc. that you could try talking to?
- You may want to try and avoid isolation as that oftentimes makes those negative feelings worse. Instead of pulling away from others and focusing on the things making you feel bad, try and find a way to immerse yourself into activities or social situations that will keep you from doing that. Especially since you’ll be able to go back on your medications within a week.
- Have you tried keeping a journal? It may help to have somewhere to place your thoughts and feelings if you don’t feel comfortable sharing with others right now.
