I’m 18 years old and suffering with anxiety, depression and isolation. I been to 4 ER’s in the last month to get help, but get sent home because they can’t do anything. I’ve been without a med for a month now, suffering from not having it due to insurance not approving it. They did yesterday, so now I wait to get it on Monday. My family comes tomorrow so now I have to isolate in my room all day tomorrow till family leaves. My psych can’t do anything till the 23rd and my case worker can’t do anything/ won’t because I’m not suicidal at all. So I’m hopeless. Idk what to do. I’m up till 4 am every night for a month due to high anxiety. But idk what to do till Monday. I have to go now.

In the Meantime
- What coping skills have you found to use to help yourself when you’re feeling out of sorts that don’t include your medication. You may want to look at these and find some things to get yourself to the 23rd. Do you have any hobbies/ interests that you can participate in right now? Art? Music? Sports?
- Sometimes sitting in isolation can makes thing more difficult. You may want to consider finding places to meet friends, talk or just be around others. Maybe even try talking to your family about what you’re going through. Do they have any ideas that could help?
- Sunshine and activity is actually a great mood lifter. Have you tried going outside and getting some vitamin D? Or maybe going for walk in the fresh air. While you’re doing it, pay attention to the things around you and pick out positive things you see.
- Most of all, be proud that you’re looking for help and trying to game plan ways to keep yourself safe and healthy. It’s not easy, but it is worth it!
